Villa Catarie is set in a privileged location, just a stone's throw from the Atlantic Ocean on the Basque coast.
Located in the heart of the village on the Basque coast between Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Villa Catarie, a typical Basque house transformed into a 4-star hotel, welcomes you for an unforgettable stay in a unique setting.
Our 15 rooms and suites have a unique poetic character, blending modern comfort with the charms of yesteryear. This hotel will become yours, the time of a getaway, between the sweetness of the ocean beaches, the pleasures of gastronomy, and the discovery of the coastline.
Villa Catarie boasts secure private parking on the premises. Our shared swimming pool is a great place to cool off on sunny days. Every morning, we offer a sweet and savory buffet breakfast, served indoors or on our shaded terrace.
Our team at Villa Catarie is at your disposal to help you discover our carefully selected local products: wine tasting at Château de Cabidos, a nine-hectare family estate located in northern Béarn, not far from the famous Jurançon hillsides.
Most of the vineyard is planted with Petit Manseng, a white grape variety of Pyrenean origin. To accompany our wines, we offer gourmet slates of local charcuterie and ewe's milk cheese.
In most villages and towns in the Basque Country, you'll find a market selling regional produce. A market in the Basque Country is a chance to meet producers and craftsmen who present the wide variety of products that make up Basque gastronomy.
Must-tries: Espelette pepper, Basque ham (Bayonne, Ibaïona, Kintoa), Basque cake, ewe's milk cheese (Ardi Gasna), Irouleguy wine, Itxassou cherries...
Seafood products are very present on the Basque Coast markets: line hake from Saint-Jean-de-luz, fresh or canned tuna, chipirons, shellfish... and all the fish from the local fishery, sea bass, sea bream, sardines, anchovies... Market gardening is also very present, discover the small local producers...
